Dubai Marina Tram-way

Postby SteveB. » Thu Jul 22, 2010 10:36 am

What happened with this project then, all the JBR access roads turned into a Main Rd. A big hole dug in the old road and now, well bugger all actually. I haven't seen any work done on the Road outside Bahar for ages.

I did hear that the Company employed to work this project were not getting paid and have moved on to a different project in Abu Dhabi? Have o idea how much truth is in that though.

Well Steve I hope they get on with it as it's a bit unsightly isn't it? The Marina will look so much better when they get the roads finished. Having said that, it's not that many years ago when this was just a load of sand in front of the Oasis Beach Hotel. Marvellous when you think about it.

Went to dinner at a friends house last night. Her husband works along side the RTA. This project has not been shelved. It is being worked on. It may be delivered a year later than planned but it is still ongoing.

I checked again and it seems the project is postponed till 2014...... No money and they need to finish priority projects first.
Why digging JBR then? This must be one of these fantastic plans by RTA. Meadows is not yet finshed and is 1 year behind schedule.
