I am of the belief that this forum may actually have a much larger audience that the current number of registered users. I think that there are many people who check the forum regularly, but because they have never felt the desire to place a comment, they have been able to view the forum as a Guest without the need to register.

In one of the recent newspaper articles, this forum was actually mentioned, as was the number of registered users. I think that we can all agree that increasing the membership of this forum would be a good thing. It would give an indication as to how many JBR owners/residents are viewing this site; it also indicates how many people have an interest in what is being discussed on the Forum in respect of JBR, and the larger the membership the greater the credibility of those who are willing to speak out and challenge DP on our behalf.

My suggestion is this... remove the facility for individuals to view the forum without registering. If somebody wants to view the site, they should be required to become a member.

I do not know what the technical difficualties would be behind the introduction such a change, but I hope that it is something that the moderators/webmaster may wish to give consideration to.

Thanks.

Hi Jtf,
I fully agree with your remarks above
It is maybe easier to put a count on guest viewing topics instead of not allowing them to access.
Many people just want to know but they are maybe shy to participate with comments.
We also want DP, and all their sub-companies to acces and read the level of satisfaction about their performance.
I got a letter today saying that there is 89% satisfaction???????????
It must be a mis interpretation of the reality.
I am more tempted to say that there is 99% none satisfied people and still I want to meet the 1% saisfied ( 45 owners) to explain to me what makes them satisfied.
Broken commitments, Windows cleaning, material quality, The link, the service charges, the beach parks, elevators, the bad smell in apprtments and in the WALK, .... see my posting on Issues summary.
Please fill free to post your poll online about DP communication.

Regards

Ali,

My apologies for what is happening to your forum at the moment, where your crank moderator Hot Chilli Pepper (The name says it all)through his actions has only served to reduce the forum membership.

His actions can only be described as a man acting eratically.

If you had the opportunity to read through some of the posts he had deleted you would soon see how why his "moderator" position cannot be maintained with this low mentality level.

Just have a look at who has gone (forumers), who has been banned or are reluctant to post. We never had any shortfalls in posting with was, banana, or yourself, and to my knowledge nobody ever took at any posts seriously.

There are many of the forumers getting together at the moment to structure an alternative forum, one that will not be controlled by an eratic dictator, perhaps the poll on his performace that clearly reflects a removal of his mod powers would be a good indicator for yourself as an administrator. This forum will not have admin or mods that will ever move to fun section, edit or delete, that would only be a site that would be under a dictatorship regime and will not be permitted.

General feelings are that this position should not have been awarded to a moron who has only posted on several occasions with all content being cut and paste. Can he speak English is on the lips of most of us.

All The Best

Drew Peacock

May I wish you, and most of your forumers a wonderfcull New Year, and all the best for the future.

If you really had any respect for this forum you would not insult people in here.
Good luck with your forum and your 20 or 30 alia's. There is a medical name for that behaviour.

You should practice what you preach, it's not that long ago that you used to insult me on a daily basis.

Thanks to the new moderating regime the insults are thankfully becoming ever more rare. I too saw some insults to which you refer but you've hardly been a shrinking violet yourself BM to be fair.

It is fair to assume by now that HCP has the full backing of the forum Principals.

Oh I don't claim to be but neither do I claim to be a saint or preach to others on their behaviour. I'm all in favour of free speach And by the way I think this site was better before HCP took it upon himself to stop the fun. But just my opinion.

The stand taken by the moderators in the past month has my full support. Posts have become more focused on content and less on personal attacks (with few exceptions, some good ones found below).

This forum is much better now. I stopped posting due to all the personal attacks. Now that it seems under control, I am ready to post again. I suppose many people are in the same situation. I hope moderators will continue the good work.

Congratulations to moderators for good job so far.

I Need help...Salwan and the Link wont do anything.

Postby fc_Emmy s » Sun Apr 18, 2010 3:48 pm

Hello I am Emilia.

I purchased an apartment in the Shams building 4
My apartment is on the 40th level top floor apartment

3 years ago, the faulty crane used by Idama or the Link or who ever.... to wash the windows broke and at the time broke 3 of my windows I had shattered glass and also fully broken windows for one year and nobody did anything to fix this...I actually had to go to the police station and report this and then finally Idama replaced 3 full windows....but that’s not the end of this story my furniture was damaged my expensive curtains and blinds were damaged and this damage was not compensated to me at all.

Now there is a huge hole in my external wall causing salt damp inside my apartment and this huge hole is still not fixed it was caused by the faulty crane at the same time that it broke my windows.

Idama the Link Salwan keep saying that they will get back to me and fix it but to date 3 years later still nothing has been done.

What should I do and whom should I talk to....to get this problem sorted.

Anybody out there that can help me.
Because of this problem I am out of pocket for 7,000.00 to fix the inside of my apartment.

I can be contacted on ora4au@yahoo.com.au
my mobile number is 050 518 7798

I'm sorry but it's hard to believe you let 3 years go by with 3 broken windows and a hole in the wall. I know that if that had happened to me Idama/Salwan would have had to call the police to have me removed from their offices.
